The ability to communicate effectively is not only essential to academic success; it translates directly into professional and career success. Today's employers place an ever increasing value on strong reading and writing skills' and anyone who lacks these skills will find himself/herself frustrated by closed doors and limited opportunity.

Not surprisingly' colleges across the country are now putting an increased emphasis on reading and writing as part of the admissions process and as part of their core curriculums. The SAT will soon change dramatically to reflect this trend and will include an expanded reading comprehension section as well as a new mandatory writing and grammar section. More than ever' it is imperative for college-bound students to develop strong reading and writing skills from an early age.





Learning how to write is a lifelong process' and each student will have his/her own personal writing goals. In general' students can expect to see some noticeable improvements in their writing after six to eight weeks of dedicated study. After one semester of working with a ReadPhonics Phone-Tutor' students should see significant progress in their writing abilities.

As with any program of study' a student's specific results with ReadPhonics will be directly proportional to his/her level of effort. No one can expect to become Shakespeare overnight' but with steady' diligent practice' anyone can improve his/her writing over time with the help of a ReadPhonics Phone-Tutor.





ReadPhonics Phone-Tutoring is part of a rigorous learning system that incorporates the following elements:

* 15-45 minutes: Student Reads a Chapter from a Work of Classic Literature
* 15-30 minutes: Student Takes Vocabulary and Comprehension Quizzes.
* 15-30 minutes: Student Writes an Essay on Assigned Topic
* 15 minutes: Phone-Tutor Evaluates Essay and Provides Grammar Notes
* 15 minutes: Student Reads Essay Evaluation and Studies Grammar Notes
* 10-15 minutes: Phone-Tutor Calls Student to Discuss Essay and Provides Writing Suggestions

The rigorous selection process includes thorough scrutiny of academic records' evaluation of teaching credentials' careful assessment of writing samples' and a grueling test of English grammar and usage. You can rest assured that our Phone-Tutors will deliver exceptional academic instruction and unparalleled attention to your child's educational needs.





Yes. In order to use ReadPhonics Phone-Tutoring' you must have a Windows-based PC that runs Windows 98' 2000' ME' or XP.

You must also have the ability to be on the internet and on the phone at the same time. We highly recommend that you have a high-speed internet connection.





ReadPhonics Phone-Tutors work only with the ReadPhonics program.

However' VisionWork does offer a separate Homework Phone-Tutoring service specifically for school essays. If you have ReadPhonics Version 10.0 or above' you can submit homework essays for review by any one of our Phone-Tutors. After evaluating your essay' a Phone-Tutor will return your essay and then call you to discuss it in more detail. This is not a monthly service like ReadPhonics Phone-Tutoring.
